The new waste-to-energy plant in Zuchwil is now successfully entering operation after several years of planning and construction. As one of the most modern facilities of its kind, it makes an important contribution to long-term energy supply and waste disposal security in the region.
An important part of this forward-looking infrastructure comes from us: Our fully automated crane systems at kenova have been in operation since the end of 2025. Four waste grab buckets, each with a capacity of 12.0 m³, together with a pusher grab with a volume of 0.70 m³, ensure reliable and efficient material handling. The grabs are fully automated and enable precise, efficient and continuous feeding of the plant.
Our crane systems therefore make an important contribution to smooth and safe plant operation. Find out more about the project under References.
Opening Days on 22 and 23 August 2026
During the Opening Days, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the new waste-to-energy plant in Zuchwil and experience its technical components up close.
