Crane systems by Brun Marti Dytan AG used for a wide variety of tasks, from wood waste bunker management through to filling the furnace system.

We had the opportunity to supply two fully automatic grab crane systems to our customer HKW Aarberg AG. The two crane systems (each with a dead weight of 30 tonnes and a main hoist output of 132 kW) are in operation around the clock, seven days a week and are deployed for the entire logistical processing of the wood waste. The two crane systems are used for a wide variety of tasks, from wood waste bunker management through to filling the furnace system.

The Aarberg wood-fired power plant can be effectively used to generate energy in Switzerland with around 70,000 t of waste wood.

The power plant, which boasts a thermal capacity of 33 MW, is primarily intended to supply natural energy for the processing of sugar beets.

Early September marked an important milestone – the installation of the two crane systems. The photos are an impressive demonstration of the precision with which the two cranes were brought into the building via the roof by B+T Engineering (planning and realisation) teams, other participating companies and Brun Marti Dytan. In the coming weeks, the crane systems will be put into operation and will complete many test runs in automatic operation.
